Calvary South Cheyenne is a Christ-centered church devoted to the faithful teaching of God’s Word and the gathering of believers for worship, prayer, and fellowship. Our calling is to make disciples by proclaiming the gospel, equipping the saints, and encouraging joyful obedience to Christ in every area of life.We seek to glorify God by building up the body of Christ and bearing witness to Him in our homes, throughout our city of Cheyenne, and beyond.We are grounded in the integrity and authority of the living Word of God. We believe the Scriptures are sufficient, relevant, and essential for life and godliness. Therefore, our doctrine and practice flow directly from the truth of Scripture.We believe faithful Christian living begins in the home. God has established the family according to a biblical pattern, and the local church is composed of families walking in obedience to Christ. For this reason, we recognize that the strength of the church is closely connected to the strength of its families.At Calvary South Cheyenne, our principles and practices are shaped by the biblical pattern for both the home and the church, applied to daily life for the glory of God.

ELDERS & DEACONS

Calvary South Cheyenne is served by elders and deacons who are committed to biblical leadership. Our elders are responsible for the spiritual oversight, teaching, and shepherding of the congregation, while our deacons serve by caring for practical needs and supporting the ministry of the church.Together, they seek to lead and serve faithfully for the glory of God. They do so first in their homes with their families, and then in the building up of the body of Christ.

PASTOR JORDAN EMERSON

Pastor Jordan Emerson serves as the lead teaching pastor of Calvary South Cheyenne. He is committed to rightly dividing the Word of God and believes faithful teaching of Scripture is his central responsibility of his pastoral calling, following his primary responsibility to lead and care for his family.He prays and hopes to see Cheyenne become a Christian city, within a Christian state, Wyoming, and ultimately within a Christian nation. Jordan is encouraged and humbled to carry the responsibility of teaching God’s Word, which has been faithfully preserved by God through Scripture and through the sacrifice of many who have gone before him throughout church history.

PASTOR RANDY GOLDEN

Pastor Randy Golden serves as an elder at Calvary South Cheyenne and helped plant the church as a work out of Calvary Chapel Cheyenne. He and his wife, Stacey, have faithfully served Calvary South Cheyenne for many years, diligently stepping in to meet needs as they arise.Pastor Randy currently serves as the worship pastor, accompanied by his talented wife, Stacey. His desire is to encourage men to be valiant men of God, first in their homes and then in their communities. His welcoming spirit and “get after it” attitude have encouraged many to pursue the upward call of Christ.

PASTOR ANDY GUTIERREZ

Pastor Andy Gutierrez serves as an elder at Calvary South Cheyenne. He is being raised up as a teaching pastor and oversees the children’s ministry alongside his wife, Tammy.Pastor Andy and Tammy have faithfully encouraged and supported the work of Calvary South Cheyenne from the beginning. Their commitment, faithfulness, and wise discernment have been vital to the growth and foundation of the church.

DOCTRINE

At Calvary South, we hold to the Apostles’ Creed as a summary of historic Christian belief.We believe the Bible, consisting of the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, inerrant, infallible, and sufficient Word of God, the final authority in all matters of faith and practice, superseding any contrary earthly law or authority (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 1 Thessalonians 2:13).We believe in one eternal, infinite, immutable, holy, and triune God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—who created all things from nothing for His glory (Genesis 1; Colossians 1:16; Matthew 28:19).We believe God created humanity in His image as male and female. God instituted marriage between one man and one woman.We believe mankind fell into sin through Adam's willful disobedience, bringing death, disorder, and enslavement to sin upon all mankind and the created order (Genesis 1-3; Romans 5:12; 1 Timothy 2:14).We believe Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became fully man through virgin birth, lived sinlessly, died on the cross as our substitute to bear God's wrath for sin, rose bodily from the dead, and ascended to the Father; He is the only way of salvation, the new covenant head for all who believe (John 1:1-14; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Romans 1:3-4).We believe salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone, a triune work: the Father draws, the Son redeems, and the Holy Spirit regenerates, indwells, and sanctifies believers (Ephesians 2:8-9; John 6:44; Titus 3:5).We believe the Church is the body and bride of Christ, composed of all the elect, gathered locally to worship, proclaim the gospel, observe baptism and the Lord's Supper, and be led by qualified men as elders under Christ's authority (Ephesians 4:11-15; 1 Timothy 3:1-7; Colossians 3:16).We believe Christ will rapture His Church, return to reign literally for 1,000 years on earth, judge the living and dead, and establish a new heavens and new earth where righteousness dwells eternally, with death destroyed and His people in perfect communion with Him (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 20; 21:1-4; 2 Peter 3:13).Until that time we are to faithfully serve the Triune God, by making disciples of all the nations, teaching them to observe all that Christ has commanded and baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
